Myofunctional therapy is an emerging treatment. Not all insurance companies fully understand it or have started covering it. It is recommended to call your insurance provider to clarify your coverage of benefits. SMS Myo Therapy is not in network with any insurance company. Documentation (a superbill) can be provided, upon request, for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Orofacial myofunctional disorders are treated from a multi-disciplinary approach. It is extremely important to see a myofunctional therapist to develop proper muscle function. There are cases where it may be necessary to include other specialists to help (ENT, physical therapist, orthodontist, oral surgeon, general dentist, speech and language pathologist, or a primary care physician) to help achieve the best possible result. Myofunctional Therapy does not cover the cost of additional specialist.
Program time is on a case-by-case basis. Most programs are 15-18 sessions. Treatment time can be dependent upon if other specialists are needed and compliance of given exercises for treatment.
